68th Annual William & Mary Tax Conference
The William & Mary Tax Conference offers lawyers and accountants an in-depth look at current topics in tax law. This year's conference, "Enforcement Strikes Back: Tax Planning as the IRS Is Financially Reborn," will be held in person at both the Law School and at the Kingsmill Resort.
Williams Mullen will be participating on two panels.
Tom Frantz and Anna Derewenda will be joined by Nancy L. Grden, president and CEO of Reinvent Hampton Roads and Brian Ball, the the former Virginia secretary of commerce & trade under Governor Northam, to speak on the "Regional Economic Development" panel on November 10 from 12:00-1:00pm. The panel will outline and discuss key state and local economic development incentives for the growth and location of businesses in Virginia, GO Virginia, the taxation of incentives to businesses, and a few tax planning suggestions.
Conrad Garcia will be joined by Jon G. Neal, a partner at McGuireWoods, to speak on the "Tax Considerations for Private Equity Fund and Acquisition Structuring" panel on November 11 from 9:00-10:30am. This program will cover various private equity fund structures and related tax considerations and explore the various tax issues that must be addressed with respect to private equity acquisitions of corporate and pass-through entities, including potential traps for the unwary.
