What’s Budding in Virginia?: A Primer on Marijuana Law CLE

On July 1, Virginia became the first state in the south to legalize marijuana for recreational use. The final legislation makes possession of up to an ounce of marijuana legal for personal use for adults 21 years or older and establishes a new independent regulatory authority within state government responsible for establishing the commercial cannabis industry, issuing regulations for cultivation, wholesaling and retail sale of marijuana.
