Bill Stauffer named to the 2015 class of "Leaders in the Law" by Virginia Lawyers Weekly
Williams Mullen is pleased to announce that litigation attorney Bill Stauffer has been named to the 2015 class of “Leaders in the Law” by Virginia Lawyers Weekly. Mr. Stauffer joined Williams Mullen in 2008 and has more than 35 years of experience litigating matters in state and federal courts, primarily in the mid-Atlantic region.
This year, Mr. Stauffer completed a term as President of the Newport News Bar Association. He previously served one-year terms as treasurer and President-elect and now serves as Director and Immediate Past President.
He is a Clinical Associate Professor for Business Law at William & Mary, where he teaches an accelerated business law course to undergraduate business students and an ethical advisory course to graduate students in the EMBA and FlexMBA programs. He won the 2015 Faculty Excellence Award from the College of William & Mary’s BBA Class of 2015. Mr. Stauffer is also in his second term as a Hampton Roads Advisory Board member for Fulton Bank.
Mr. Stauffer has been recognized by Virginia Business magazine on multiple occasions as one of the state’s “Legal Elite” for civil litigation. The Best Lawyers in America® has also recognized Mr. Stauffer as a top lawyer in the area of commercial litigation every year since 2008. In 2014, Best Lawyers® named him Norfolk’s “Lawyer of the Year” for Litigation – Banking & Finance.
The “Leaders in the Law” program recognizes the lawyers across the Commonwealth who are setting the standard for other lawyers in Virginia. “Leaders” are recognized for changing the law, serving the community, changing practice or improving Virginia’s justice system, among other accomplishments.
