Jamie Martin Named to 2020 Class of ‘Influential Women of Law’ by Virginia Lawyers Weekly

Williams Mullen is pleased to announce that Jamie Baskerville Martin has been named to the 2020 class of “Influential Women of Law” by Virginia Lawyers Weekly. The award program honors women attorneys and judges for their work on behalf of clients, their commitment to their communities and their service to the profession. The honorees will be celebrated at a reception and awards program on Feb. 18 at The John Marshall in Richmond.

As the chair of Williams Mullen’s Health Care Section, Jamie oversees a team of 16 health care attorneys in five cities, while maintaining a full-time legal practice. She combines her experience with an extensive understanding of the health care marketplace to provide health care strategy and practical advice on transactions, operational issues and regulatory compliance. For many health care clients, she effectively serves as outside general counsel, representing them in both strategic and day-to-day matters. In addition to her role as section chair, she also serves as a member of the firm’s Women’s Initiative Steering Committee.

Martindale-Hubbell has rated Jamie an AV preeminent attorney, its highest rating available. She has been named among Virginia’s “Legal Elite” by Virginia Business magazine every year since 2003 and listed in Virginia Super Lawyers magazine every year since 2006. She has been included in The Best Lawyers in America© since 2005, and she was named the Best Lawyers® Health Care Law “Lawyer of the Year” in Richmond in 2014 and 2016.

Jamie received her Juris Doctor degree from the University of Virginia School of Law, where she was a Dillard Legal Writing Fellow and received the Daniel Rosenbloom Award for academic assistance to other students. She received a Bachelor of Science degree, magna cum laude, from James Madison University.

Jamie lives in Goochland with her husband, three children, and two dogs.
