Williams Mullen Adds Former Assistant AG Anna Birkenheier to Litigation Practice
Williams Mullen is pleased to announce that Anna Birkenheier has joined the firm as an associate in the firm’s Litigation Practice. Ms. Birkenheier joins Williams Mullen after serving as an assistant attorney general in the Office of the Attorney General of Virginia for five years. She represents clients in a wide range of industries, including construction, in complex commercial litigation matters at the state and federal levels, including regulatory proceedings, investigations, and administrative matters.
“Anna brings some impressive experience from her time working for the Commonwealth,” Litigation Practice Chair Turner Broughton said. “She is an extremely capable litigator with plenty of experience defending agencies throughout the state, and we’re excited to add her to our team.”
As an assistant attorney general, Ms. Birkenheier served as agency counsel to several state agencies and provided legal guidance to state agencies on matters before the Commonwealth. She also represented state agencies in state and federal litigation.
She received her Juris Doctor degree from William & Mary Law School, where she was the managing editor of the William & Mary Business Law Review. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Northwestern University.
