Williams Mullen Announces Election of Six New Partners
Williams Mullen is pleased to announce the election of six new partners, effective Feb. 1: James T. Bailey, Joseph E. Blackburn, III, Miles S. Bruder, Meagan J. Kalantar, Jennifer Ligon and Caroline W. Stanton.
The new partners are based throughout the firm’s footprint with three in Richmond and one each in Raleigh, N.C.; Charlottesville, Va.; and Virginia Beach, Va.
In Richmond:
Jim Bailey focuses his practice on senior housing transactions. He has represented clients of various sizes from individual owners and operators to large publicly traded companies. He also counsels a variety of clients in private equity, manufacturing and retail industries. Jim earned his J.D. from Washington & Lee School of Law.
Joe Blackburn assists clients with a variety of civil litigation issues, with a focus on commercial and shareholder disputes and professional liability defense. He received his J.D., summa cum laude, from the University of Richmond School of Law.
Jennifer Ligon focuses her practice on transactional and regulatory matters, including Certificate of Public Need (COPN) matters, Stark Law and Anti-Kickback Statute compliance, state licensure compliance and Medicare reimbursement matters, for hospitals, physician groups and long-term care providers. Jennifer also routinely provides general business and employment-related advice for physician groups and ancillary providers. She earned her J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law.
In Raleigh:
Miles Bruder represents clients in significant corporate transactions, with a focus on negotiating complex commercial contracts and leading private-market mergers and acquisitions. He counsels clients of all sizes across a broad spectrum of industries, from growth-stage, consumer products startups to global technology companies, assisting them with all aspects of developing, sourcing, marketing, selling and supporting their products and services. Miles earned his J.D., magna cum laude, from Wake Forest University School of Law.
In Charlottesville:
Carrie Stanton represents businesses in major corporate transactions, including mergers and acquisitions and capital raises, as well as complex commercial contracts and governance matters. She earned her J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law.
In Virginia Beach:
Meagan Kalantar supports a robust transactional practice in Hampton Roads and manages significant transactions for clients in a variety of industries. She helps clients with mergers and acquisitions, entity formation, contract review and negotiation and private equity and venture capital investment transactions. Meagan earned her J.D. from the University of Richmond School of Law.
