Williams Mullen Bolsters Charlottesville Office with Addition of Employment Attorney Micah B. Schwartz
Williams Mullen is pleased to announce that Micah B. Schwartz has joined the Labor, Employment & Immigration Section in the firm’s Charlottesville office.
Schwartz is a commercial litigator who focuses on employment, workplace safety and education cases. He represents clients in state and federal courts at the trial and appellate levels and counsels clients on sensitive matters to keep them from maturing into litigation.
Schwartz has defended clients against claims under Title VI and Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), the National Labor Relations Act (NLRA) and Title IX of the Education Amendments Act. He also defends clients against wrongful-death and breach-of-contract claims, and brings with him experience representing clients under investigation by the U.S. Department of Justice, the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), the U.S. Department of Education and state Attorneys General.
Schwartz earned his undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Virginia, where he served as student body president.
