Williams Mullen Congratulates Robert J. Higdon, Jr. on Confirmation as U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of North Carolina
Williams Mullen is proud to congratulate Robert J. “Bobby” Higdon, Jr. on his confirmation to become the U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of North Carolina. The U.S. Senate voted to confirm Mr. Higdon during the Sept. 28 floor session.
“Since joining Williams Mullen, Bobby has been a valued member of our team,” Carolinas Managing Partner David Paulson said. “He is a true gentleman with high integrity, and he is an absolutely outstanding attorney. We are obviously sad to see him go, but we are equally thrilled for him to get this opportunity to serve his country and the citizens of North Carolina.”
Mr. Higdon joined Williams Mullen as a partner with the White Collar & Investigations team in May 2015 after spending nearly 24 years as a federal prosecutor. At Williams Mullen, Mr. Higdon joined practice co-chairs Chuck James, a former Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia and Chief Deputy Attorney General for Virginia, and Patrick Hanes, who has more than 22 years of White Collar & Investigations experience, to assist businesses and individuals facing scrutiny from state and federal administrative and criminal investigations, congressional inquiries, administrative investigations, derivative suits and whistleblower cases.
"Bobby was truly a pleasure to work with and he proved to be an excellent addition to our already deep and experienced team," James said. "We'll miss him, but we're looking forward to continuing to help clients navigate all forms of investigations."
Mr. Higdon is a 1985 graduate of Wake Forest University, where he earned a B.A. in politics and a 1989 graduate of the Wake Forest University School of Law.
