Williams Mullen Recognized as a 2024 “Tipping the Scales” Firm for the Third Time

Williams Mullen is proud to be named a 2024 “Tipping the Scales” firm by the Diversity & Flexibility Alliance (Alliance), making it the third time the firm has received this distinction. The recognition is based on the Alliance's 2024 New Partner Report, in which out of the more than 200 law firms researched 82 firms had 50 percent or more women in their new partner class.

The recognition was announced at the Alliance's 2024 Annual Conference on Oct. 24 in Washington, D.C.

The Alliance is a think tank that works with law firms and other organizations to help them better understand their unique cultures and promote inclusive and flexible work practices that advance more women into leadership positions. The Alliance provides practical research-based solutions, training workshops, and strategic advisory services to help organizations increase their overall effectiveness through diversity and flexibility.

Williams Mullen emphasizes diversity, inclusion, and parity for all lawyers through its Diversity & Inclusion Committee (D&I), which is guided by a strategic plan. Under the D&I umbrella is our Women’s Initiative, which provides a collaborative environment that promotes the success of our female attorneys. In recent years, the initiative has founded a sponsorship program to help elevate Williams Mullen’s senior associates and salaried shareholders and provide participants with the resources they need to advance and succeed.
