Williams Mullen Welcomes Litigation Associate Ashley Phillips
Williams Mullen is pleased to announce that Ashley Phillips has joined the firm as an associate in the Litigation Section. They are based in the firm’s Richmond office.
Phillips represents clients in federal and state courts, and in arbitrations across the mid-Atlantic. Phillips’ practice spans a variety of areas, including class actions involving various consumer protection statutes, construction litigation and contract disputes. Phillips represents individuals, homebuilding companies and manufacturers among other clients.
Phillips previously served as a law clerk in the Eastern District of Virginia for the Honorable M. Hannah Lauck during which time Phillips researched and drafted judicial opinions and prepared hearing documents and case compilations. Because of their clerkship, they have a special insight into and familiarity with the practices and procedures of the Eastern District of Virginia. Phillips also served as a summer honors law clerk with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and was responsible for composing written reports of legislation impacting suspension and debarment, drafting memoranda recommending agency action based on criminal trial proceedings and researching legislative action concerning EPA program funding.
Phillips received their Juris Doctor from the University of Richmond School of Law, where they served as editor-in-chief of the University of Richmond Law Review and graduated in the top 10% of their class. Phillips received their Bachelor of Arts in political science summa cum laude from Washington & Jefferson College.
