Williams Mullen Adds Experienced Real Estate Attorney Lori Schweller in Charlottesville
Williams Mullen is pleased to welcome Lori Schweller to the firm as a partner in the Finance & Real Estate Section. Ms. Schweller previously worked at LeClairRyan. She brings 18 years of experience representing developers, private landowners, businesses and owners associations with a variety of real estate projects.
Her experience spans a number of industries, such as telecommunications, commercial and residential development, golf courses, wineries and more, and includes commercial acquisitions, sales, financings and leasings; land use and zoning; and common interest communities.
“Lori is a very talented attorney and a great fit for our team,” Finance & Real Estate Section Chair John Mercer said. “She brings a ton of real estate knowledge and experience, and we know she will be a great resource for our clients.”
Ms. Schweller serves as leasing and zoning counsel for a major wireless communications provider, and she routinely works with local officials on wireless zoning issues and appears before local boards throughout Virginia to obtain zoning and use permits. She has worked on several noteworthy projects, including local representation of an international land developer acquiring an Albemarle County vineyard and assisting the owners association of a large planned development to purchase its golf course and club amenity.
Ms. Schweller is listed in The Best Lawyers in America© for Real Estate Law (2015-present). She also serves as secretary of the board of directors of the Virginia State Bar’s Real Property Section, and she chairs its Land Use & Environmental Committee.
She earned her Juris Doctor degree and a Master of Arts degree in English from the University of Virginia and her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
