James P. Carney
Jim Carney concentrates his practice on construction and government contracts. Jim represents owners, contractors, designers, subcontractors, suppliers, and sureties on both public and private construction projects. He counsels clients at all stages of construction and dispute resolution with a particular emphasis on litigating and overseeing complex disputes and drafting and negotiating contract agreements across various project types, including residential, commercial, infrastructure, hospitality, research facility, and hospital projects.
Jim has experience litigating cases in state and federal court, before federal boards of contract appeal, and in domestic and international arbitration proceedings. Jim also writes and presents on various construction law issues and is an active member of the American Bar Association’s Forum on Construction Law.
Jim earned his Juris Doctor degree from The Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law and his Bachelor of Arts degree from Davidson College.
