Kayla M. Masteller

Kayla Masteller focuses her practice on a wide range of finance and real estate matters. She focuses on representing clients in all aspects of real estate transactions including acquisitions, financing, and land-use matters. Kayla assists landowners in navigating cutting edge land acquisition legislation including the new federal CFIUS regulations and Va. Code § 55.1—507.

Before joining Williams Mullen, Kayla developed professional experience in civil litigation, public service, and transactional law. She was a legal intern at the Public Defender’s Office in Hampton, Virginia, a legal intern at a small civil litigation firm in Norfolk, Virginia, and focused much of her studies on commercial real estate transactions. Kayla also has considerable experience supporting companies in the service and hospitality industry.

Kayla earned her Juris Doctor degree from William & Mary Law School, where she served as the president of the Human Security Law Center, the vice president of the Criminal Law Society, and was a member of the William & Mary Journal of Race, Gender, and Social Justice. Kayla earned her Bachelor of Arts degree, summa cum laude, from Keene State College.
