Lewis H. Hallowell
Lewis Hallowell focuses his practice on complex commercial litigation matters. He draws on his experience as a judicial law clerk to advise and represent clients at all stages of litigation.
Before joining Williams Mullen, Lewis started his legal career as a law clerk in North Carolina state and federal courts. After graduating from law school, he clerked for the Honorable Adam M. Conrad of the North Carolina Business Court, assisting the resolution of a wide variety of disputes typical to North Carolina businesses. After the Business Court, Lewis clerked for the Honorable Terrence W. Boyle of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of North Carolina. During his federal clerkship, Lewis assisted the court in adjudicating a substantial number of federal criminal and civil matters.
He earned his Juris Doctor degree, cum laude, from Duke University School of Law, where he served as a senior staff editor of the Duke Journal of Constitutional Law & Public Policy and a member of the Moot Court Board. Lewis earned his Bachelor of Arts degree, magna cum laude, from Boston College, where he received the John L. Heineman Award for Historical Scholarship and was a Scholar of the College.
