Williams Mullen Welcomes 6 New Associates
Williams Mullen is pleased to welcome six first-year associates to the firm. Four of the associates will be based in Richmond with one each in the firm’s Norfolk and Raleigh offices. In addition, five of the new hires are 2021 graduates of the Williams Mullen summer associate program.
Nicholas G. “Nico” Balbontin has joined our Corporate Section in the Richmond office, where he focuses his practice on general corporate matters with an emphasis on mergers and acquisitions, entity formation, joint ventures and contract review. He earned his Juris Doctor degree from William and Mary Law School and his Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the College of William and Mary.
Gabrielle E. "Gaby" Brill has joined our Financial Services & Real Estate Section in the Richmond office where she works on matters for a wide range of financial institutions on commercial loan transactions, including community, regional, and national banks, with a focus on historic and low-income tax credit transactions. She earned her Juris Doctor degree, summa cum laude, from the University of Richmond School of Law, and her Bachelor of Arts degree, magna cum laude, from Dickinson College.
Aaron Fadden has joined our Intellectual Property Section in the Raleigh office, where he is an intellectual property attorney whose technical focus is on chemistry, biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, life sciences and firearms. He counsels clients in matters related to prosecuting and litigating patents and other IP. He received his Juris Doctor degree from the University of North Carolina School of Law and his Master of Science degree and Bachelor of Science degree from Rochester Institute of Technology.
John A. "Jack" Irvin has joined our Litigation Section in the Richmond office, where he focuses his practice on commercial litigation and navigates legal issues to help clients find solutions and achieve their business goals. He received his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Richmond School of Law and his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Virginia.
William A. Truban, III has joined our Labor, Employment & Immigration Section in the Richmond office, where he focuses on employment law, with an emphasis on HR compliance and litigation. He assists clients on both state and federal employment laws, fair labor standards, and compliance with ERISA and Title Vll. He earned his Juris Doctor degree, magna cum laude, from Washington and Lee University School of Law and his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Virginia, Batten School of Leadership and Public Policy, with high distinction.
Alston Underwood has joined our Financial Services & Real Estate Section in the Norfolk office where he focuses on representing national, regional and local clients in all aspects of commercial real estate transactions, including land acquisition, financing and dispositions, mixed-use and multi-family developments, and office, retail and industrial leasing. He received his Juris Doctor degree from the William & Mary Law School and his Bachelor of Arts degree, cum laude, from the University of Miami.
