Williams Mullen Shares its COVID-19 Preparedness Update

As we continue to monitor the COVID-19 outbreak, our chief concern remains the health and safety of our clients, colleagues and employees.

As of today, Williams Mullen offices across North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia and Washington D.C. remain open with business proceeding as usual. We have stepped up safe workplace measures in all of our locations to protect employees and guests.

Although it is our hope that no occasion arises that requires us to deploy our incident response measures, we have contingency plans in place that will ensure our clients continue to receive uninterrupted service from Williams Mullen. Some other measures we have taken include:

  • Business Continuity – As mentioned above, our incident response team has plans in place to ensure attorneys and staff members are able to work remotely, without interruption.

  • Events & Meetings – We are utilizing alternative means of communication to avoid large, unnecessary meetings and gatherings. All currently planned educational seminars will now be held as webinars.

  • Office Safety Measures – We have increased cleaning of common areas and ensured hand sanitizers and other cleaning products are readily available. We have also provided instruction on the proper steps we all can take to reduce the transmission of germs.

  • Recent International Travelers – We have asked those who have recently traveled to a Level-3 country, or who have taken a cruise, to work remotely for 14 days after returning to the U.S., per CDC recommendations.

  • Non-Essential Business Travel – We have postponed all non-essential business travel for the near-term.

  • Legal Guidance – Our attorneys are also providing updated information to protect employers during this situation through client alerts. Please click here to see our most recent communication.

We hope that you and your loved ones remain safe and healthy during this time.
